After the first two successful albums „Cosmic Waves“ and „Fusion“ the duo „Wellenfeld“ surprised the audience at their first Live-concert beginning 2006 with their new release „Trip to Illusion“. And the title fits perfectly. Besides new sounds and fresh melodies the LP shines through its warm and powerful sound. Multiple enjoyments will strengthen this impression. “From the start we try to find those sounds, which fit perfectly, have slight warmth and transport a certain transparency in our songs. Preferably we work with pads that sound concentrated and full by layering”, stated Andreas. honestly this album takes quite a bit of time and many listening rounds to actually "get into". No doubt it is technically excellent, with more advanced composition elements than earlier records, however it isn't that easily accessible either. Perhaps this is actually a strength as each time you will listen to there will be more details to discover. Martin R
